A Deep, Rich Red
Burgundy is a classically stylish colourway with a deep, rich red tone. Tanned from Australian Merino sheepskin, this rug is thick, soft, and plush, perfect to snuggle on and complement any home decor.
Why Burgundy Suits a Genuine Statement
Unlike a muted neutral, Burgundy brings real colour depth to a room — warm enough to pair naturally with timber and leather furnishings, bold enough to anchor a space on its own.
The Depth That Comes From Long Wool
The long wool pile gives this rug genuine depth underfoot, a direct result of using longer-fibre, higher-grade hides during tanning rather than a shorter, denser fleece.
A Note on Sizing
The size of this rug is approximately 105cm length x 65cm width. We're conservative with our sizing, and the actual rug may be slightly larger — we measure from the pelt (leather) side only, not including the wool fibres that extend out, which would add at least a further 10cm to every dimension.

Keeping It Looking Its Best
Cold wash using a dedicated Woolskin Shampoo, dry in the shade, or professional dry-clean. As these are 100% natural products, colour may vary slightly between rugs and what's shown on a screen. If ordering two or more of the same colour, we recommend ordering together in one order — our team will do their best to match tone across the batch. We also recommend keeping the rug out of direct sunlight, or moving it periodically, since strong UV exposure can cause colour dyed sheepskin to change over time. See our full washing guide for more tips.
A Genuine Statement, Done Naturally
For anyone wanting real colour depth rather than a safe neutral, Burgundy is one of the boldest options in our long wool range.
Loved By Our Customers
I have always wanted a sheep skin in green and this one is gorgeous. I looked at dozens of rug brands but this green one is the best and softest one . It is a perfect width to sit on my lap with our grand child and it looks wonderful on the sofa. It’s also incredibly cool on a hot start to Summer.
Absolutely love my luxurious long-wool green sheepskin! It arrived very quickly and is incredibly soft, thick and plush. The colour is perfect, exactly what I was hoping for. The quality is excellent and it looks and feels beautiful. Very happy with my purchase. Thank you!
This sheepskin rug is amazing! The colours in my rug are gorgeous , so soft and luxurious. Thank you to the beautiful sheep!!
Love this rug so much, I’ll have to get another
Absolutely love my purchase. Delivery time to me in SA was as promised. I ordered online Wednesday and received the product 1pm Friday, 2 days later.
It is luxurious and the colour shown online.
I have included a photo.
Very skinny to what I was expecting to pay for not like pictures
Hi Jo-Ann, we're sorry to hear the rug didn't meet your expectations. From the photo it looks like you have washed the sheepskin rug. A tip is to stretch the sheepskin hide out to shape while the leather is still wet as it is very pliable, this way as the hide dries, it will maintain shape.
Hope this helps :)
I love the lilac colour I now have the purple one and now a lilac on my couch the dogs love 🧡 them and so do I 🙂
Hi Susan, we're delighted to hear you love the lilac color and that both you and your dogs are enjoying the rug. Thank you for sharing your lovely feedback!
Really like this sheepskin rug. Very warm and comfortable. The quality is excellent and the dogs love laying in front of the fire
I absolutely love my sheep skin. I bought two and put them both by each bedside. They are the last thing I step on before bed, and the first thing I feel when I put my feet on the ground in the morning. So soft and fluffy. Beautiful colour...I just want to lay on it all day!! No smell, no mess, arrived in perfect condition. Perfectly made...10/10. I've never had the money to buy a real sheep skin rug but when I saw the price...and felt the cold winter setting in...(plus a tax return)..I splurged and got two for beside the bed...they are so lovely, I almost don't want to step on it. Well done, highly recommend.
Super fast delivery, superb product. This luxurious sheepskin is part of my morning ritual to roll out and sit on, light a candle and enjoy my morning tea..a soft sensory way to start my day. Thank you. Ps thankyou for the cutest comfy sheep socks too
Absolutely love these sheepskins! I purchased two of the Double Length Ivory Australian Merino Sheepskin rugs and couldn't be happier. The quality is outstanding—they're incredibly soft, thick, and luxurious. They fit my chairs perfectly and have completely transformed the look and feel of my living area. The ivory colour is beautiful and exactly as pictured. They arrived quickly and were well packaged. If you're thinking about buying one, I'd definitely recommend getting two—they look fantastic together. Highly recommended!

I bought this rug to enhance my doggos bed. She loves it and I love the colour
We love this rug, super speedy delivery, awesome colour and so soft and warm :)
I bought this for my dog who had not been sleeping so well in colder weather. When the sheepskin arrived I wanted to keep it for myself. So soft and such good quality. The dog immediately snuggled down on it and has slept soundly. I feel she is very spoiled. Considering getting another.
I purchased the sheepskin for my old dog she snuggled into the plush pile.
